Pros

They offer health insurance and 401k. Free monthly parking passes so you can park downtown during work day. I am currently looking for a new job, so they're proximity to other companies for interviews is convenient.

Cons

A lot has changed. Coworkers and departments are not as happy as they used to be. Turnover rate has increased in the corporate office. Team Member Resources may claim to keep issues confidential, but I have experienced that is not the case. Family and friends of family working in the office and on the field usually get hired into a position they do not have experience in.

It is accurate that HHS offers a 401k plan and a company match, provides free parking for as many team members as possible, and provides a very good medical insurance. It is also accurate to say that recent turnover has increased as a result of some leadership changes and reorganization of departments. We are seeing definite trends that indicate that the reorganization is helping in many ways, including stabilizing turnover. It is very important to note that many positive changes have been made as a result of the Open Door Policy and practice. The practice of bringing issues forward is supported at all levels and no retribution is tolerated. Issues and concerns raised are kept confidential only to the extent possible; in order to take corrective action, it is necessary to discuss concerns with relevant parties. If no discussion occurs, no correction or improvements are possible. Family and friends of family and current team members are, if qualified, considered for positions and hired if they are the best candidates, a practice the company is proud of. This practice has resulted in a diverse and very qualified workforce. Advice never falls on deaf ears, and we consider all recommendations. Leadership is very approachable and is always willing to listen, evaluate, and, if necessary, make a correction. As for the allegation that leadership only cares about numbers, this is simply not true. It is accurate that the company is fiscally responsible and continually looks for ways to be fiscally efficient, but we also work diligently to continue to develop and maintain practices and initiatives that benefit all team members with respect to providing competitive benefits, wage increases, and job security.

Pros

Family-owned business with a large organizational exposure. Offers great pay and benefits with ample career advancement opportunities. I really enjoyed working for all the HHS leaders that I reported to. The company has maintained the family-owned feel as they grew.

Cons

These are dependent upon the customer/contract that you work under. As a contractor, you work for the customer and not HHS, and it's not always the local facility. In the healthcare sector, there's no work-life balance. You have to be all in all the time. Staffing is often really tight with extra-large expectations. Again, this is not an HHS reflection but is dependent on the actual contract owner.

Pros

Some hardworking people throughout the organization that are supportive and care.

Cons

Executive leadership lacks alignment. Priorities change constantly, communication is inconsistent, and there is little to no strategic direction. It feels like pure chaos all the time. The organization has grown faster than its infrastructure. Corporate teams are expected to support the company without the staffing or resources needed to do it well. Chronic burnout is inevitable when leadership continues to praise operating as a "lean team." Employees raise legitimate concerns, including concerns about leadership behavior, yet nothing changes. Accountability seems to depend on who you are rather than what happened. Favoritism and nepotism are blatantly obvious. If you're not part of the inner circle (or family), don't expect the same opportunities or support. Benefits continue to be stripped away, annual raises are minimal (2% or less) with no clear explanation for how increases are determined, and there is no transparent bonus structure. This was the most toxic work environment I've ever experienced. If you're considering working here, I'd encourage you to look elsewhere.
