Pros

The people. This is in all of the reviews because it is true. The people who work here are fantastic. They are funny, smart, and supportive, and I feel lucky to have worked with them. Putting anything else in this section would be a stretch.

Cons

To be entirely frank, this job is a true tragedy. A place full of bright, fun, and intelligent writers who are not given what they deserve by a management that views them as entirely expendable. My only wish is that I could free them as I’ve freed myself. My main complaints: - The job is very isolating. If you’re looking for a job where you do your work, get your paycheck, and go home, this will be a good fit. If you want camaraderie within the office and human interaction, this is not the place for you. - You are severely underpaid for the difficulty and quantity of work you are expected to produce. This work is repetitive, grueling, and boring. - There is unbelievable pressure to take “optional” bonus work, which, as it turns out, is not optional at all. These overtime projects are also severely underpaid, repetitive, grueling, and boring. - Your opinion is not valued outside of the echo chamber of writers who all agree that the situation isn’t right. In fact, management will refuse to engage with your concerns in any meaningful way. If you want change, you’d be better off quitting. - From what I could tell, the company is genuinely client focused, but they are client focused at the expense of their writers, which creates a toxic work environment. When writers demand better conditions for themselves management gaslights their employees by presenting a false dichotomy where either writers overwork themselves for pitifully low compensation, or clients suffer.
