Collaboration is highly valued at HKS and we encourage our staff to discuss expectations of hours worked in advance of projects. We are continually improving our internal tools to increase the visibility of project fees, hours, and building performance of our projects to all staff. During this unprecedented time, the decision to reduce our workforce was a difficult and necessary one. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, leadership was transparent in addressing the firm’s financial situation with firmwide salary reductions, minimized discretionary spending, and urged of employees to reduce hours and furlough. As the pandemic progressed, HKS was forced to make more aggressive moves to ensure the health of the firm.
