Pros
Company as a whole: Good benefits. Has events such as employee BBQs and a Christmas party. Bonus at the end of the year.. its small, but still better than no bonus. When the company made the move to Carlsbad, they offered employee relocation loans. Personally: my supervisor was always super flexible with my schedule. I have a kid and she always helped me with last minute time off requests, I did have the PTO to use though. Also if you go to school, they will make a schedule that will allow you to achieve your goals. They still expect you to work full time, but they will adjust your schedule. You can make friends easy enough, you can easily bond by talking about how crappy the actual job is and how poor management is.
Cons
From my point of view, office politics is a real thing around here. Tech support is highly micromanaged, to the point where they have a very high turn over rate. Telecommuting isn't an option available to everyone, just whoever the manager/director likes the most, time with the company has no input on this. All those events that I mentioned in the pros section, tech support doesn't get to attend. Even for the christmas party, only half the team gets to attend, even though everyone else in the entire company gets to attend. When someone with a higher position, in a different department, gets in trouble, they have the choice to either be laid off or work in tech support.. Really lowers team moral and overall self worth knowing that someone else's punishment is your job. And of course the pay sucks. People in the installation department, in which all they do is make appointments, make more money than the tier 3s here.
