Pros
Good pay for AEC industry standards, pretty solid PTO and heath benefits. Some real all-star colleagues as well that I still reach out to from time to time.
Cons
Management isn’t interested in developing young engineers. For the most part, it’s a “figure it out” mentality , which isn’t bad per se but when asking for guidance when struggling with a new task, management tends to get frustrated. there were even times where one manager blatantly belittled me for not knowing how to do something, and another manager would get very frustrated with me whenever I asked them a question. It wasn’t a good place to feel safe to ask questions unless I was asking my fellow colleagues, who were incredible assets to my development. But to constantly be stepping on eggshells around management for no good reason was a terrible feeling.
