Pros

Where do I begin? Believe all the bad reviews! This is a great workplace for entry-level employees if you want some experience in sportswear/retail sales, but once you reach a year and get promoted, run for the hills! The pay is below industry standard and the benefits are horrible. - You will make some great friends because you bond over the misery. - The owners really do care about the business and are generally nice people, so if you can get to know them it will make a difference. -You get decent discounts and can travel to corporate offices

Cons

-A lot of inexperienced staff due to hiring young employees straight out of college and never giving proper training. I worked with one sales exec whose sole purpose was to do as minimal of work as possible and take all the credit for the work by the associates on her team. There is a culture of overpromising and under delivering. Managers love to pile more projects onto associates without being realistic of how time-consuming something really is. Depending on who you report you, you are expected to work all hours of the day. -Employee retention is a joke, there are at least three people quitting monthly; Haddad is a small office, maybe 200 people total, so that says a lot. The turnover causes people to get promotions without the proper skills to run their department or manage a team. - There is a culture of pass-the-buck and a blame game attitude across teams. People don’t know how to work together and everything is done in silos.

Pros

The holiday party. Oh wait, it’s on a Tuesday or Wednesday so no one can truly enjoy themselves, so nevermind! Absolutely no pros.

Cons

If I could change one thing in my life, it would be working at Haddad Brands. Coming straight out of college and it being your first job, you truly have no idea how warped working there is. The delusion and greed of the family should be studied-the workload and how they treat their employees is inhumane and honestly disgusting. A crash course is the hours are 8:30-5:30-giving them an extra hour of your life for absolutely no reason. You’re looked down upon if you take a break or step out, even just for a minute. You sit in a jail cell, with no windows, for 9 hours a day-elbow to elbow with the person next to you-and cameras watching and tracking your every move. The Haddads actively work to fire people (don’t be mistaken I wasn’t one of those people-getting a new job was probably one of the best days of my life)-who they consider to be ‘C Class Players’ which is anyone who doesn’t dedicate blood, sweat, tears and overtime to them. All you do is make them money but when it comes time for raises, promotions, benefits etc., they can’t put their money where their mouth is. The work is genuinely not even close to manageable-no matter how hard you work-and everything is under a microscope and scrutiny. The work from home days that have now dwindled into basically zero is laughable and there is no work life balance whatsoever. Just know that if you work at Haddad, you will be worked like a dog-no ifs, ands or buts.
