Pros

Flexible with schedule and dress-code. Great people at all levels. Fun, relaxed atmosphere but make no mistake - you will have plenty of work to do. Staying busy makes time fly - who wants to be bored? Managing partner has a great attitude, wants his teams to enjoy their work and their time in the office. Managing partner is dedicated to those that are dedicated to their work. Makes an effort to distribute work evenly.

Cons

Resources sometimes lack for the high standards the firm wants met. Perhaps the Office Manager needs to take more initiative in knowing what is required to complete the tasks assigned, i.e. time, skill, guidance, etc. so the appropriate measures can be taken. Training is lacking so qualification standards should be raised. Rules aren't enforced. Too much leniency cultivated an atmosphere where senior staff basically do what they want , some partners treat their staff poorly and senior staff will only do the minimum of what is required forcing others to pick up the slack.

Pros

Free bagels and donuts on Friday. Occasional lunch

Cons

NO support for support staff. Gossip and favoritism are rampant. You can be fired after almost a year because firm thinks "it's not a good fit." That's all. It's just not a good fit. Not, here are some issues we would like to discuss. Just goodbye and good luck. No positive feedback EVER. Way too many cases for one person to ever handle--maybe a robot can do it though. High turnover in this position. Attorneys will tell you how happy they are with your work and then tell management it's not working. There is NO WORK/LIFE BALANCE. Its just work, work, work some more. It is never enough. Their motto is you are only as good as your last mistake!
