Pros
I have been a Paralegal at HMB for the last 7 years. This is the first law firm that I have worked for, for more than 2 years. The opportunities given to me have been priceless. I have been blessed to have attended Trials, Arbitrations, and Mediations within the first couple of years working at HMB. This firm is not only a place where you clock in, do your work, clock out and do it again the following day, NO, this firm becomes a part of your family. You build different relationships with people and the love and support you receive is something rare to find in the workplace at times. The relationships are so genuine that my wedding was full of HMB’s former and current employees because they are no longer my co-workers, they are my friends/family. Days before the state shut down due to COVID-19, my supervising attorney, Niva Harney-Hiller asked me to begin to work from home due to my pre-existing conditions. Once COVID-19 became more serious at or around the beginning of March 2020, the firms main priority became the employees and their families safety. The firm immediately took action by ordering laptops for employees, so that everyone can work from home, including legal assistants. The office was not closed for business, but management recommended that ALL employees should work from home until further notice. The firm conducts weekly Zoom firm meetings, in order to keep us all updated on the current situation and what has now become our new normal. I have been working from home for the last 6 months and I must say, I love working from home, but I do miss my HMB family. HMB did not show any fear or signs of panic during these crazy times, instead, they have kept us motivated, focused and updated at all times. I am blessed and grateful for HMB.
