Stressful Work Environment - Store Manager Harbor Freight Tools Employee Review

Pros

Interacting with employee's and customer's on a day to day basis was a plus and fulfilling to a certain point. Helping associates grow and find their way at work and in life. Medical Insurance is a big plus. Bonuses can be Pro and Con.

Cons

The down size is not being appreciated. I know a lot of individuals on here speaking about advancement within the company. But it's a game and sometimes decisions weren't made with the best interests at hand. Another would be how the company is structured. At times you appreciate the corporate side of things as opposed to a family owned decision making process.

Pros

Great benefits, fast paced environment, good teamwork. I liked the hours, you get an education about tools, whether from your coworkers or the customers. And speaking of the customers, they were on the better side for retail. Most are down to earth and easy to converse with.

Cons

Supply chain issues, many parts would never be replenished, despite being featured, advertised, and on display. That would often lead to tensions with customers. Aggressive time constraints on tasks. Sidewalk sales, holidays, and also coincidentally inclement weather days, can be quite busy and therefore stressful. Especially if there's call outs, but if you have a good management team, you'll have good staff that will want to work for them.
