Pros

Very good pay and benefits

Cons

Store Managers sit in the office all day and do nothing to contribute to the team. As long as numbers are good, nothing else is looked at. SMs basically do what they want, make their own schedule, come and go as they please, and take extended lunches. All while the rest of the team does the hard work. Staffing is an issue because part time employees are only allowed 12 hours a week. You cannot hire good candidates because they cannot survive on that amount of hours. SMs are focused more on their bonuses than on their employees well being. Unless you have good ASMs in the store, training is non existent. Computer training is filled with outdated policies and procedures. Huge work load and consistently understaffed and under scheduled. Price changes every Friday which most stores get a truck that same day. In a 7 day work week, everything is scheduled on top of each other on just a few of those days. Promotions are non existent unless you're in with the "good old boys" group. District Managers aren't willing to have hard conversations and don't voice any concerns about the SMs they're friends with, you will be blacklisted. Do not go to HR in confidence because they will reveal your identity to the ones you are reporting. If you have an issue with upper management, keep it to yourself or you'll permanently have a red X on your back. The scripts are monotonous and customers hate them. There's too much pressure to get name and email from customers. Many SMs will direct associates to give discounts in order to bribe customers for their information. The hardworking employees are overlooked and the lazy ones get the promotions or are hired in off the street to be SMs. Work life balance is a struggle, scheduling is unfair. They are trying to compete with bigger brands and are losing customers. The saying, "Getting too big for your britches" strongly applies to the company's future. Trying to grow too big too fast.

Pros

Great benefits, fast paced environment, good teamwork. I liked the hours, you get an education about tools, whether from your coworkers or the customers. And speaking of the customers, they were on the better side for retail. Most are down to earth and easy to converse with.

Cons

Supply chain issues, many parts would never be replenished, despite being featured, advertised, and on display. That would often lead to tensions with customers. Aggressive time constraints on tasks. Sidewalk sales, holidays, and also coincidentally inclement weather days, can be quite busy and therefore stressful. Especially if there's call outs, but if you have a good management team, you'll have good staff that will want to work for them.
