Harbor Freight Tools Response

Thank you for your feedback. We are always happy to hear from current and former Associates. At Harbor Freight, we value people above all else, and we are committed to providing our Associates with competitive compensation to support their lives. We review the wages for our Retail Associates three times a year by comparing them with the market and minimum wage, and we also review them once a year during the annual performance review. We do our best to stay ahead of the minimum wage, and we do not pay at the minimum wage. We also review the wages of surrounding retailers to determine the need for an increase in the current wage. Thank you for your hard work, and we wish you all the best.

Pros

Great benefits, fast paced environment, good teamwork. I liked the hours, you get an education about tools, whether from your coworkers or the customers. And speaking of the customers, they were on the better side for retail. Most are down to earth and easy to converse with.

Cons

Supply chain issues, many parts would never be replenished, despite being featured, advertised, and on display. That would often lead to tensions with customers. Aggressive time constraints on tasks. Sidewalk sales, holidays, and also coincidentally inclement weather days, can be quite busy and therefore stressful. Especially if there's call outs, but if you have a good management team, you'll have good staff that will want to work for them.
