Just great - Field Service Technician Harland Technology Services Employee Review

I have worked here for over 20 years. In a career field that has a historically significant amount of job hopping, our company average for the Support Dept is around 20 years. We do not get micro-managed, and this is wonderful for self starters.

Large company (Harland Clarke Holding Company) means change takes time. Both good and bad, depending on the specific situation.

Great company for techs who want to work 10 hours for 8 hours pay. The training for new techs isn't bad if you like 4 months in Omaha. Job Security is good because they can't find anyone to hire so they make up these great reviews. As long as you don't screw up royally, your job is secure.

Salary and benefits aren't that great for the workload you will be carrying in this area since they are always short staffed. Vacation time is good if you can get it scheduled when you want it. You will be mostly working on old printers and old PC's with some new stuff on occasion. Be prepared to spend lots of time on hold waiting for support to help you out. Don't bother making any suggestions to management to improve anything because they don't listen to their employees. Also, there is no opportunity for advancement unless you want to move to Nebraska.
