Pros
Relative flexibility on schedule (hours and switching with others), good coworkers, generally pretty good management in the department itself. Decent work ethic contributed positively to schedule flexibility.
Cons
Horrible upper management for the most part. Constant interference at busy times, contradictory information, often unhelpful when there was a mechanical issue in the deli. Obsession with appearances and pushing unwanted sales whenever management was hanging around. Not a whole lot of opportunity for advancement, several coworkers were promised induction into management training on multiple occasions and management did not follow through or brought in someone else. Very little increase in pay over the 3+ years I was there for myself and others, even though department managers frequently acknowledged and congratulated our efforts.
