Pros
-usually will give me time off when I want/need it -bonus checks twice a year -ok first job -usually friendly associates
Cons
-no communication between managers -write-ups for the smallest of things -you are ALWAYS at fault when there is a customer complaint, no matter what happened and even if you followed policy -management and corporate does not seem to care about their employees -gossip between departments and managers -UNDERSTAFFED. ALWAYS. they cut labor drastically all the time and expect the same results and get mad when things are not done to perfection -extremely high expectations with no help -very low pay -almost nonexistent pay raises. I received a promotion last year and had to beg for a $0.50 raise. they would not have given it to me unless I asked. I have been with the company for 3 years -employee discount is laughable (10% off HT brands excluding produce, meat department, etc.) -long shifts without breaks occasionally -- lunches/breaks are often given towards the very end of your shift -the on-call policy is extremely inconvenient. part-time associates must call in at least once a week. very inconvenient especially if you are a student, but management does not care. they always understaff and put people on-call instead -employee appreciation nonexistent. everyone I work with seems unhappy a majority of the time. no reviews, just constant audits -HT preaches following company policy but if a customer complains their policy turns into give them whatever they want to make them happy. customers pick up on this and begin to purposefully take advantage. some of the return policies are insane (double your money back, for example, on meat. I have seen a people walk out with $100 because their pot roast had a speck on it) -bonus checks heavily taxed
