Pros

Really good company with the best value to price furniture in my opinion. Wonderful selection, solid quality and many systems in place for you to succeed in any position. Everything from the prospecting system, to the management side, Havertys really has a solid foundation that should keep them in business for years to come.

Cons

Delivery success has declined over the past 5 years I have been there. It’s still the best delivery service in furniture, but it’s falling behind in quality control with merchandise being re-sent to customers that was already sent back and damages on the truck by drivers being careless had slowly increased over time making it harder on everyone. You may have a flawless system all the way up until delivery and the driver/temp then is careless right at the point of success and scratches it up. Also, The trucks are being packed with less care than before which is also aiding in the increase in damaged merchandise. However, all that said... Havertys will ALWAYS take care of the customer and go above and beyond any other company I know of.

Cons

Very low additional pay for Sales Manager role. COMMISSION only job. Some months I made $14.00, other months I made $8000.00. I was Salesperson on the month many times and still never broke $50K year. LONG HOURS. Many people there work 12 hour days, just to get their sales numbers enough to avoid being fired. Upper management is "Old Boy" mentality.
