Pros
If you're in school and need a job that can earn you enough money to scrape by while allowing you study time this might be a good fit.
Cons
Where do I begin? This company loves to tout itself. They constantly try to brainwash their employees by telling them how good they have it while it's really much better somewhere else. They even made a little poster once that put themselves in the top 10 companies to work for and compared themselves to Tiffany & Co., Best Buy, and some others that I cannot remember. I'm sure it was incredibly inaccurate, completely made up or based off response bias anyway. The higher ups visit from time to time and basically do nothing but wander the stores and try to make the associates feel like second class citizens. They will let you work for years thinking that you'll get promoted but will never act. Their products are overpriced, your job as an associate is to convince the patrons that Haverty's overpriced product is worth it. They give their employees a pay cut every year on New Year's Day; not kidding. Every January 1st they release new quotas, where they pay less money for the same percentages as the year before. "Great job last year everybody! By the way, you suck! Here's your annual pay cut!". I'm sure this was a great company to work for in the 1800's while their founder was alive, but it's never gonna be great again. Keep looking.
