Pros

It's a job and your paid every (2) weeks.

Cons

Pretty much everything. Low pay scale and the work is loaded on! Management will engage in falsehoods when you are hired, giving you a low ball on the work load. Once you start working, the work is piled on. It's expected you work overtime to catch up with unrealistic work load. You'll be doing the work load of of (3) employees. Management also engages in bully tactics, they know best and will dictate and micromanagement to you constantly. The director of service operations has been witnessed to scream and curse out employees. She has a slogan sign in her office, "Save time, assume I'm right". Pretty much says it all! Terrible work/life balance, morale here is one of despondency. There is no value placed on employees or initiative here. There is little training and no continuing improvement. The highlight of your experience here will be orientation. Turnover is through the roof and management doesn't care! Management has no formal education in management science, are unprofessional, and mistake micro-management for continuing education. There is no information sharing to employees, no transparency, no departmental meetings; you're just a peon, no matter what position you're in. Atmosphere is punitive, if an issue arises with a result on a case, the employee is found to always be at fault.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback from your employment here at Health Advocate. I am sorry to hear that your overall experience here was not good. We are constantly striving to improve the environment in which our employees interact and your feedback will help us continue to achieve this going forward. As you know, we have a vast number of clients and millions of members who rely on us on a daily basis. Admittedly, 2018 was our toughest and busiest year yet, and we are projected to continue to grow in 2019. I appreciate your contributions to our success throughout the years, and I want you to know that we have elevated our staffing plans and recruitment strategies to provide the support for our team. By increasing our staffing, we will be able to hold more frequent departmental meetings and improve our results with career trajectory within Health Advocate. In fact, quite a few of our current supervisors and managers have worked their way through the internal path of development. We are addressing employee feedback and ideas as effectively as we can, so much so that we just rolled out an internal development “university” in which all of our employees at every level can continue to learn and grow within their role while expanding outward to roles they are interested in pursuing. This includes valuable courses, eBooks, and videos accessible 24/7. We have even delegated paid learning time for our employees to explore their future with Health Advocate. If you would like to share any additional ideas on how we can improve, I can be reached at Hmintzer@healthadvocate.com Thanks again for your thoughtful review; we wish you the best luck in your future endeavors. Pros

Coworkers help each other when needed

Cons

Pay is terrible for the position. The company provided half an annual raise in 2025 with the promise of the other half in 2026 to align raises with reviews, but then froze all raises. Did not get more than 1.5% raise, but upper management keeps getting promotions with bumps in pay. Metrics are the only thing cared about. Managers micromanage and provide inconsistent and conflicting advice.
