Pros

Health Catalyst has truly changed my life. I consistently feel as though I hit the career jackpot. Have you ever had an interview where you ask what the culture is like, or if people enjoy coming to work, and they all reassure you that it's a great place to work; only to find out later that may not have been the whole story. This company still surprises me with the way they value their employees. They really grasp the idea that if you treat your team members well, they want to work hard for you. I have the best work-life balance of any job I have ever had, and have been given many opportunities along the way to prove myself. I can't imagine working anywhere else.

Cons

I think we all worry a little about the way we will continue to change during this extremely fast growth. Keeping our growing customer-base happy and still trying to innovate and change the health industry as a whole. I believe we still have some things to learn about divide and conquer as our leadership team, while enthusiastic, seem to be stretching themselves pretty thin these days. They all need about 3 clones of themselves!

Thank you for your insights. We all definitely still have much to learn, and I would say that I hear your insight about our leadership team regarding being stretched. We are learning alongside everyone else as we figure out how we grow and scale effectively. Thanks for your efforts to make our team awesome!

Pros

Great Talent & Culture: The people here are highly capable, collaborative, and committed to helping each other succeed. The partnership between onshore and offshore teams works well and is a real strength. There’s a culture of grit and stability that has helped the company navigate multiple major transitions over the years. Mission-Critical Engineering: The work involves complex data infrastructure that requires deep technical expertise. It can be demanding, but seeing these systems run successfully and support real-world operations is consistently rewarding.

Cons

Wage Compression and Retention Risk: Compensation for tenured and high-performing staff has not kept pace with the market for specialized data engineering and support leadership. In practice, tenure can feel undervalued or even penalized. This creates risk around losing institutional knowledge and operational continuity. Stagnant Career Progression: Contrary to stated expectations, strong performance ratings do not consistently translate into meaningful, market-aligned compensation growth. The process of how compensation is benchmarked lacks clarity in practice, obscuring how compensation decisions are made and what is required to advance.
