- Things are tight in the healthcare industry right now, so it's been more challenging to build revenue and every department has been feeling the squeeze. - The company's stock price has (irrationally, I believe) taken collateral damage from the blunders of other companies in the field. - Although not in my department, I know there are some departments where people are working a lot of overtime and managers have a controlling attitude—this is not okay. - There's a sense of constant pressure on management to give shareholders a payday by taking benefits and salary away from employees. So far they've refused, and I'd like to believe they have the ability to hold the line over the long term, but being a public company has its hazards.
