Pros

HC was the best company I've ever worked for until the last few years. Confidence in upper management is diminishing. It really seems that we've lost sight of our mission and are more focused on making share holders happy.

Cons

Lack of clear mission and direction lately. Too much emphasis on being a "platform" company when there are better platforms out there that would allow us to focus on our real mission. Stock options and RSUs values have tanked.

Thanks for your many, many years of contributions to our success. While we always try to live up to our operating principles and values, we sometimes fall short. Please share your thoughts with your Leadership Team member so we can learn from your experiences and strive to re-earn your trust and confidence. While market realities have been difficult, I believe our tech-enabled managed services offering has great potential to help us achieve our mission on a larger scale than we’ve ever seen. Our platform is a big part of that offering and will continue to be so as we maintain deep partnerships with our clients and the larger healthcare ecosystem. I appreciate your mission-oriented viewpoint. It’s part of what makes our company special. Best, Dan Burton

Pros

Great Talent & Culture: The people here are highly capable, collaborative, and committed to helping each other succeed. The partnership between onshore and offshore teams works well and is a real strength. There’s a culture of grit and stability that has helped the company navigate multiple major transitions over the years. Mission-Critical Engineering: The work involves complex data infrastructure that requires deep technical expertise. It can be demanding, but seeing these systems run successfully and support real-world operations is consistently rewarding.

Cons

Wage Compression and Retention Risk: Compensation for tenured and high-performing staff has not kept pace with the market for specialized data engineering and support leadership. In practice, tenure can feel undervalued or even penalized. This creates risk around losing institutional knowledge and operational continuity. Stagnant Career Progression: Contrary to stated expectations, strong performance ratings do not consistently translate into meaningful, market-aligned compensation growth. The process of how compensation is benchmarked lacks clarity in practice, obscuring how compensation decisions are made and what is required to advance.
