Pros
HealthDrive is an extremely reputable company that provides outstanding support with excellent compensation and benefits. HealthDrive pays you every penny you earn. They provide all the Podiatry supplies you could ever need, including an autoclave and a laptop computer with a Podiatry specific EMR already in place. I just treat the patients and HealthDrive does everything else! HealthDrive is a leader in quality patient care, and they take great pride in complete Medicare compliance. HealthDrive does all the homework for us in finding the latest and most appropriate diagnosis codes. They do all the scheduling and marketing and will support you even through difficult situations. HealthDrive also pays you for travel if the nursing home is more than 25 miles away from you.
Cons
I was used to working as an independent contractor, so it took a little while for me to get used to having a lower limit for what I can contribute to my 401K, however the company does have a partial match which helped me offset this. Lots of oversight from compliance, but it has helped me to know that I’m billing Medicare correctly. Most companies encourage you to up-code, but HealthDrive does not allow you to up-code.
