Account Manager - Account Manager Healthcare Services Group Employee Review

Pros

It's pretty easy to get a job with HCSG. There are several accounts here in the Denver metro area where the Account Manager would practically beg you to work for them. You don't need to have any experience as a manger to get an Account Manager position.

Cons

Hard work for low pay would be the biggest con. HCSG is a contract company in the facilities so all of the employees are on the bottom of the totem pole and so don't get much respect from the direct staff. The lower to middle management does not get much pay and for the most part do not know what they are doing. For some reason even though the company has been in business for over 15 years they still manage to mess up payroll. Several of my staff have not been paid for vacation when they took it, one was not paid her regular salary for 3 months and the previous account manager wasn't doing much of anything to get it corrected. I haven't received much (if any) training on payroll issues but still managed to get her back pay onto her new paycard within a couple of days. The District Managers make promises they don't keep. I was promised that I would get a raise over 6 months ago and still have not received it. I have probably lost in the neighborhood of $1,000 because of it, but they don't care. They claim that they are there for the residents but observation indicates that they (upper management) are there to make as much money as they can as fast as they can. The services we provide are horrible because we don't have enough staff and in some cases no equipment or supplies.

Pros

coming to work and greeting residents and some of the staff, that helps me through the day, laughing and joking around, just so I don't think about the negativity that comes with working for hcsg and working in a autumn lake building

Cons

working understaffed meaning 3 and half housekeepers, is not gonna cut it and people go on vacation or sick or just off.. the slack is passed down on us and more so on the manager, the company culture uses him and he can never take time off because he's filling in 100 percent of the time.
