Pros

This company has helped me grow significantly in my professional life. As a working manager, I get to work with my team as well as be the leader of my team. Sure, it's cleaning floors, processing laundry, and scrubbing toilets. But it is a business providing a product - and we happen to be a business providing clean facilities so that the client doesn't have to worry about it. After 1.5 years of employment I was promoted to Training Manager and another year after that I was given the responsibility of overseeing 3 other facilities besides my own. The company doubles in size every 5-7 years and is constantly providing new opportunities for hard working, customer service oriented people.

Cons

The pay is fair - but I do wish it was a little more generous. Being a salaried management position, yes there will be weeks you work 60 hours... but also weeks you work 35... if you are a good manager you should be seeing more of the 35-40 hour work weeks. Most of the time you are able to schedule out your projects and plan around your life - but again, if you are managing poorly you might end up doing a night project on a Friday night instead of going out with your friends...

Pros

coming to work and greeting residents and some of the staff, that helps me through the day, laughing and joking around, just so I don't think about the negativity that comes with working for hcsg and working in a autumn lake building

Cons

working understaffed meaning 3 and half housekeepers, is not gonna cut it and people go on vacation or sick or just off.. the slack is passed down on us and more so on the manager, the company culture uses him and he can never take time off because he's filling in 100 percent of the time.
