Pros

Good equipment and clean environment. Enough supplies.

Cons

This place is an ergonomic nightmare. HOURS spent folding clothes/linens on a tabletop LESS THAN 30 INCHES FROM THE FLOOR; this is great if you are 6 years old. Wet clothes are transported to the dryers in deep, Rubbermaid "Brute" trashcans and you have to reach clear to the bottom of them to get the heavy, wet laundry out; great if you are well over 6 feet tall. Dirty laundry is transported from the nursing floors in giant rolling hampers and again, you have to lean way into them and/or tip them partially over and balance them on your legs to reach the laundry and get it out. This company needs to worry less about employees having a bottle of water to drink in a LAUNDRY ROOM (really?) while they are working and worry more about killing their backs. I started work without having a drug test or TB test. Only one 15 minute break given for a 6 hour shift. Don't note your 2 week schedule on your calendar in ink---it's not worth the paper it's written on. It is revised frequently and you are expected to accommodate any changes. I am told that you can 'advance' in the company--I make less than $8 an hour--how much do they pay the building manager to be on call 24/7--$11? No thanks. They make sure that you are hired as and you will stay a part time employee and truthfully, that's about all I can stand.

Pros

coming to work and greeting residents and some of the staff, that helps me through the day, laughing and joking around, just so I don't think about the negativity that comes with working for hcsg and working in a autumn lake building

Cons

working understaffed meaning 3 and half housekeepers, is not gonna cut it and people go on vacation or sick or just off.. the slack is passed down on us and more so on the manager, the company culture uses him and he can never take time off because he's filling in 100 percent of the time.
