Pros

There are a few good people left in my old area but the new regional is firing anyone who makes over 50k.

Cons

This is a Housekeeping company pretending to be a Dietary company too. All the upper management is from Housekeeping. All the VPs are from Housekeeping. There is no test kitchen. Our recipes literally were googled and chosen by someone who has never in his life worked in any food service industry. The food has to be the worst in the industry. The only hope for the Dietary division is to be split off and taken over by someone, anyone with at least some culinary sense. There are no benefits. The facilities are dangerously understaffed and the hourly employees are poorly trained, underpaid and generally disgruntled. Management is promised raises and incentives that never materialize. There really is no future in this company for up and coming professionals. The top spots are all taken by former Housekeeping managers who after 35 years eventually have entrenched themselves as VPs where they make mind boggling decisions about dietary operations. There is absolutely no information flowing from the facility level up. All decisions are made at corporate level and instituted with no concern over the real life ramifications. I encourage you to think twice before joining this group of clowns.

Pros

coming to work and greeting residents and some of the staff, that helps me through the day, laughing and joking around, just so I don't think about the negativity that comes with working for hcsg and working in a autumn lake building

Cons

working understaffed meaning 3 and half housekeepers, is not gonna cut it and people go on vacation or sick or just off.. the slack is passed down on us and more so on the manager, the company culture uses him and he can never take time off because he's filling in 100 percent of the time.
