Pros

Working with the residents can be very fulfilling. When things go perfectly, it can be an easy management job.

Cons

Things rarely go perfectly, and as an account manager you are expected to pick up all the slack. They want all employees hires in at minimum wage and with part time hours. Then your staffing budget is cut to where you barely have the correct staff to properly clean the building. This makes staff retention very hard. As a manager, expect to do work more employee shifts than to actually manage. If you work to improve staff morale by scheduling full time for the long term employees (absolutely no overtime!), and staff your schedule to properly do the job, you will go over budget and put your job in jeopardy. Training is not consistent, regardless of expectations. If you have no life, no family, and no desire for free time, this job can be perfect for you. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere. Our facility in NC is next to a hospital where they hire $2-5 higher, and allow employees to work 40+ hours with much better benefits. This company only cares about bottom lines at the top, and at their meetings they will brag of profits over the last few years. Read these reviews and see how similar they all are. Consider what you could be getting yourself into, and really, just walk away.

Pros

coming to work and greeting residents and some of the staff, that helps me through the day, laughing and joking around, just so I don't think about the negativity that comes with working for hcsg and working in a autumn lake building

Cons

working understaffed meaning 3 and half housekeepers, is not gonna cut it and people go on vacation or sick or just off.. the slack is passed down on us and more so on the manager, the company culture uses him and he can never take time off because he's filling in 100 percent of the time.
