Pros

Overall, the company appears to be financially strong despite what is happening politically. Your experience will vary significantly depending on the department you join, as leadership style and team culture differ across teams.

Cons

I was a member of the Clinical Quality team, and unfortunately, my experience was overwhelmingly negative. The team culture was toxic, driven by a top-down leadership style that fostered fear, instability, and favoritism as per the AVP. The department leader often demonstrated emotionally volatile and unpredictable behavior, contributing to a hostile work environment. Independent thinking was discouraged, and those who didn’t conform were frequently marginalized or targeted. A small group of favored team members within the management team reinforced this dynamic, often undermining colleagues and creating unnecessary barriers to getting work done. It solidified their place and provided them with job security. Their influence appeared to be rooted more in loyalty than in competence or leadership ability. This ranges from dishonesty while presenting internally and externally to plans to target specific people. I witnessed numerous instances of inappropriate behavior from leadership and their close circle of managers, many of whom seemed to lack the vision and skillset necessary for effective leadership. While the larger organization has many strengths, the current leadership structure within this team poses a serious risk to its culture and long-term success. The management team is the epitome of job's ability to cause mental harm to individuals who just want to be rewarded for their contributions. A meaningful cultural shift would require not only decisive leadership intervention but also a reevaluation—and likely removal—of those enabling such dysfunction.
