Pros

For corporate positions: - Pay & Benefits are decent; PTO, not so much, but the employee discount is actually really great - Good place to start your career (emphasis on start); a lot of opportunities to expand your skillset - Big-name brand looks great on a resume - You'll meet some really nice people along the way *Pay attention to the 3-star and below reviews* Working corporate at HelloFresh is not bad, but it's also not great. If you are interested in gaining a lot of experience within a short amount of time & are OK with dedicating your life to your career then this company would be a fit. I personally wouldn't consider HelloFresh a place to stay for a long period of time - get the experience & then find a better place.

Cons

Hopefully, you land on a team where senior management treats you like a person & not a workhorse but here are some things to consider based on my experience (NY office): - Work/Life Balance: depending on the department you're in, expect burnout within a couple of months. PTO is available (if you've accrued enough time), but it's the typical situation of 'having a lot of work, but we're short-staffed and no one else can cover, so I'll take PTO knowing I'll still have to work during my time off.' - Short-staffed: Part of the long hours is due to several departments experiencing turnover. It might be different now, but during my time each team was dealing with this. - Ego-Driven: HelloFresh's culture emphasizes an "ego-less" environment, but maybe these values are not meant to be applied to senior management. - Company Culture: HelloFresh is a very large brand so cultivating a company culture that expands across all offices is going to be difficult, but the culture at the NY office is very much "grind culture" & "bro culture" (but again, this likely depends on the team you join.) - The success of HelloFresh would be nothing without all of the hard work from the warehouse employees. Witnessing a company go through the motions of union-busting practices was extremely offputting & actually pretty depressing.

Pros

Flexible hybrid environment. In-office requirement is 50% of the month, but there is significant autonomy in how those days are scheduled (eg. you can decide to condense your in-office days the first 2 weeks of the month, and work remotely for the next 2 weeks).

Cons

1- Compensation (particularly base salary) is significantly below market. Reliance on RSU as a major component of the compensation package is problematic, given the company’s stock has severely plummeted over the last 5 years (and continues to do so). 2- Professional development is virtually non-existent. Internal promotions are rare (even for top performers) and highly political. 3- Constant reorganizations and frequent layoffs. It is difficult to feel secure in your position when entire teams are being phased out every few months. 4- Toxic and fear-driven culture. There is a prevalent culture of backchannel feedback and a palpable, constant sense of fear regarding job security and retaliation. 5- Unsustainable business model, still. Service is overly reliant on discounting and promotions, which has negatively impacted brand perception and long-term customer value. Path to sustainable growth is unclear. Leadership also doesn't seem to know what to do, as they frequently pivot strategy, with new directions introduced every few months (if not every few weeks). This lack of consistency creates a sense of instability and leaves teams feeling as though the company lacks a cohesive, long-term vision. 6- Leadership tone. Leaders often lack respect for both employees and the customer base (it is common for them to make derogatory and insulting comments in business meetings about customers who cancel their service).
