Pros
Benefits are awesome, guaranteed retirement contribution (not a match!!) Which is huge early in career. Type A personality culture: fast paced, always something to do, and interns like myself are given responsibilities of a full-time salaried Office/Field Engineer which is fantastic to learn. Many opportunities to learn as much as you can, people are on the better side of the construction industry and are generally pleasant to be around; very few have declined to answer a question I had about the company, relocation to Hawaii, or benefits/pay. Pay was solid for an intern in construction, since company provided housing/car (only expenses were gas, food, and fun). growing region as well!
Cons
high cost of living inflates number in the pay package (can be deceiving), but not a bad place to start your career. Overall can be very intense at times to meet deadlines and get things done (most Field engineers and project managers put in 50, 60+ hours a week), which can harm work/life balance depending on the project. Interns were paid for 40 hours a week despite putting in 45+ hours of work while living an hour away from project, which made it hard to do much outside of work. hot summer weather made you feel the field work.
