Pros

Some good employees and management Work from home was good while it lasted, (for about a month) Fun Admissions Retreat- They actually had the meeting in Milwaukee, WI one year. (Sarcasm). Good time to meet every Advisor for the Univ in person.

Cons

No growth opportunities- Hired as an Admissions Advisor, stuck as an Admissions Advisor, unless you're lucky enough to move laterally as an EC- but be careful. Don't let them force you to do two jobs while being paid for one. Awful schedule/hours You're not even as good as your last start. All they want to know is what you can do for them NOW Bad schedule- If you're scheduled to work on a Sunday, your hours are: 1030-7. who wants to wrk those hours on a Sunday?!?! Mgmt will ALWAYS find something you're not doing well enough. If you have a good start, you're low on transfers. If you're high on transfers, you're low on interviews and your transfer to interview held conversation ratio is too low. No such thing as a, "perfect interview", or score- Mgmt will rate you lower scorewise and nitpick what you didn't do well enough on an interview. Cheap company. Couldn't even spring for coffee stirrers. Mgmt favors tenured employees. There were certain employees who were there for wayyyy too long, but bc they, "started" the office w/the DOA, they were still employed. It didn't matter that they said controversial things OUT LOUD. Seemed like they had the freedom to say whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted, w/no consequences. How does that promote a good culture?!?! Good employees left, bad ones stayed. Useless weekly WIG meetings- They were a waste of time.

Pros

Everyone is very pleasant to work with.

Cons

Because of the Wisconsin nice, nobody will ever say what they mean and will smile while escalating small issues. They are very new age psycho-babble, meetings and 1:1's are more like encounter group analysis and leadership is so busy trying to maintain a Kumbaya culture that meetings accomplish nothing and when you push back on practices that are not the best or challenge a leader you are automatically on the blacklist. Also if you dont show for the Summerfest thing, you can kiss your career goodbye. TBH I was relieved to leave, during the last few months it was probably obvious I was extremely frustrated with the way the dept. was run like a new age retreat.
