Pros
Relaxed and supportive work environment. Management was very willing to let new engineers make mistakes and mentor them instead of blaming. Small, tight-knit, and friendly team. Competative base pay. Solid benefits, with a good 401k match and employee stock purchase program.
Cons
Offices were very out-of-date and uncomfortable. As a design engineer, there was a lack of work to be done. My site could not win new large projects, and nearly all of my work was sustaining. Lack of room for advancement. The requirements to move up to the next level (engineer II, III, etc.) were unclear. Management was all young, which is good to see, but it meant that I would likely have been unable to move higher in the next few years. This is ultimately what drove me to leave. Raises were very small compared to the rest of the industry
