Even though today they laid off the newest or worst employees on the teams they do not value, they do it amateurishly. Some people were told over the phone, everyone else herded into a room with somebody random who told them how it wasn't about them. Meanwhile, the people they like are usually moved into new positions that they do terrible in.
My career favorites are --
-- The holiday party where they only focus on the team they care about -- you are forced to attend unless you want to use vacation --
--The snow emergency hotline, almost never updated even when all of the schools are closed and even then only updated at 8 AM after everyone is on the road since the manager in charge does not wake up until late morning since he could care less about the staff the 2 days he is actually in office.
Bonus structure for the team is a tragedy -- worse once they promote you to a manager. $800 and change after taxes is a bang-up year.
--The squandered money from the tax cuts businesses got last year -- no trickle down at all.
