Pros
- Relaxed, fun-loving culture and atmosphere. - A tight-knit team. - High quality production standards for most things, especially photography. - An attractive business model -> growing client base. - A good place for learning and personal growth. - Friendly and understanding management. - Cutting-edge tools/equipment at your disposal. - Everyone is pretty cool.
Cons
These may no longer hold true, as the company was still experiencing growing pains when I left: - Mediocre pay compared to the industry. - A lack of established practices; naivety. - Team is too small for the amount of work clients demand: the sales team is too good for production teams to keep up with, which leads to sub-optimal products rushed to completion. - Some sketchy clients (naturopaths, chiropractors, frauds and charlatans). - Haphazard web development and feature-sparse websites. Squarespace for 99% of them. - With so many clients and such a short time to market, rarely was there a sense of ownership or pride in our final product. This leads to general apathy. - High rate of employee turnover (My friends all left). - Everyone is pretty cool(tm). Ultimately, an ad firm is an ad firm.
