Pros
Growth potential as long as someone with a nepotism benefit doesn’t get the job first.
Cons
Is growing way too fast with not enough resources or support. Operation, accounting, and HR is a complete disaster. Nobody has any training, you just get thrown in. Most companies have adequate onboarding and actual training teams for front office, accounting, housekeeping; both line level and management- nope, not highgate. You get thrown to the wolves. That is why every hotel has huge service issues, awful guest experience, and low TripAdvisor placement. They only care about fiscal goals; guest experience and employee retention/ happiness means nothing to them. Quality employees get pushed out of the company when one person dislikes them, but others get away with murder. Many leaders with sexual harassment investigations (which are proven to be true) are kept on board and even promoted as well as the CPO who is a complete alcoholic. When women have brought up harassment claims, they get ignored or called a liar. The company went completely downhill when Sam grabush left. He cared about people. Steve batta, an EVP, is a complete piece of trash. I met him 20x and he still didn’t even know my name. He promotes all his buddies even though some are totally corrupt, as well as his nephew who is extremely mentally unwell. Board is all male. Lack of diversity in company. They also work you at all hours of the night with zero work life balance. No one ever takes a true vacation. HR and accounting very much slaves to the company working 7 days a week, 12+ days with no additional pay. Bonuses are also extremely misleading. I never got more than half of my eligible percentage even when hotel was performing extremely well. Would not recommend to anyone who is seeking a healthy, non-toxic work environment .
