Pros

One of the best reasons for working with the Hilb group would be the people. Everyone that works here is really friendly and as long as people have time, they are more than willing to help you if needed. The training is good as well. There are a lot of resources and videos that have provided me with lots of help with tasks that I have been stuck on. I work a remote position and was scared at first about how the training would be or how difficult it would be to reach out to someone if needed, but this company has made it very simple despite this.

Cons

I would say I don't have a lot of cons about this company/position, but there are a lot of skills that are needed to make this job less difficult. Some skills that are very important is time management and organization. There are times when there are multiple tasks that are needed to be completed by a certain deadline and if you aren't organized this can make those tasks difficult to complete. Also, during busy season, carriers may take longer to deliver quotes so it is important to plan ahead and get the proposals out as fast as possible.

Pros

There was nothing I liked about Hilb.

Cons

Hilb is an acquisition company and promises nothing will change to these mom and pop companies they acquire. No real training programs in place. There are no training manuals. Main Benefits team in Cranston does not not properly train acquired companies fully on Hilb's systems and processes. You meet with management for interviews to see where you will best fit on their teams and that process has flaws and not always placed in the right team. Lucky to get a bonus or a decent raise. High turnover rates. For a company that sells benefits it costs employees a lot more than they paid with their company that was acquired.
