Pros

Leadership/senior director level is full of studs. Visionaries who get it and care. Senior Manager/lower director level is mostly competent, experienced, and reasonable. A few bad eggs but most of them don't have direct reports. You are generally allowed to bite off as much as you want to chew, so long as your day-to-day is done well. Benefits are fantastic with plenty of PTO/holidays, a good match, and a solid choice of health plans. The work environment is the right level of casual. Working from home 1-2 days per week is no big deal. The Go Hilton perk is fantastic, amounting to some $3k+ in hotel room savings annually if you play your cards right, and the Long Tenure program is an extremely nice carrot to encourage you to stay for a long time. Just lots of really nice, smart people.

Cons

Pay and raises are lower than expected and you will generally make more doing the exact same job at another company in most (corporate) roles. There is definitely a disappointing "who you know" component to moving up, though it is less so than at other companies. "What you know" remains most important, but you will find many career Hiltoners (many of whom have near-irreplaceable knowledge) that have been stuck in tactical roles for many years that aren't commensurate with the amount of value they're bringing to Hilton.
