Hitachi Vantara Response

Thank you very much for your candid feedback about compensation, management support and strategic vision at Hitachi Vantara. (Hopefully you also shared your viewpoint in our annual Hitachi Insights Survey which recently took place.) Transformation is difficult work and it can disrupt some key communication and organizational structures. But our transformation is also creating new opportunities throughout the company as we invest in growth areas like IoT, Cloud, software, services, flash and analytics. In the past year alone, we’ve brought on board almost 1300 new employees, and still have nearly 300 additional openings to fill. (https://www.hitachivantara.com/en-us/company/careers.html) Compensation for these jobs reflects Hitachi’s appreciation for its employees, as you kindly noted in your review. Your critique concerning strategic vision reflects an opportunity for us to more effectively communicate our vision of Hitachi Vantara. We are committed to this transformation effort every step of the way, so please give us further feedback as we proceed. Input like yours helps our entire organization address issues of common concern.

Pros

Decent pay, average benefits, some autonomy to get things done

Cons

The entire leadership group that I was hired under was gone within 18 months and replaced but far worse examples. Micro-managing and then threatening corrective action plans as a means to force out those who they didn't like or earned too much. From a technology perspective, the storage products are average and inline with competition, but with far fewer reps in the field and no real marketing or inside sales to speak of, Hitachi Vantara is largely irrelevant in the Storage industry now.
