Pros

Young employees are given substantial management and leadership opportunities they wouldn't get elsewhere because they don't want to pay market rate for employees with experience. Even when they do, they always leave when they expect a raise every few years and get nothing.

Cons

As mentioned - no raises or promos. No RSUs, no cash incentives (at least at my level I'm told - despite my having received them at other companies) I was told the bonus paid out at 100% on average over the last few years when I joined - that's a lie, I rarely see it pay out above 80%. So this company is so cheap that when they offer you your bare bones salary they really never intend to pay you all of it.

Pros

Decent pay, average benefits, some autonomy to get things done

Cons

The entire leadership group that I was hired under was gone within 18 months and replaced but far worse examples. Micro-managing and then threatening corrective action plans as a means to force out those who they didn't like or earned too much. From a technology perspective, the storage products are average and inline with competition, but with far fewer reps in the field and no real marketing or inside sales to speak of, Hitachi Vantara is largely irrelevant in the Storage industry now.
