High Expectations with Little Opportunity for Learning - Sales Associate Holiday Stationstores Employee Review

Pros

Part-time is good for high school/college students looking to earn some money, good entry level retail experience, and free fountain beverages

Cons

Fast-paced environment, I felt like the management expected performance at the same level as the more experienced employees within the first few shifts, and I did not feel like I received adequate training to be able to achieve that. Instead of a helpful attitude, many of my questions were responded to with the attitude that I should already know the answer, even though I had not been trained in the task that I was asking about.

Pros

Everyone is so friendly and helpful, support from supervisors is amazing. I enjoy every single person I work with and I love coming in to work and seeing everyone. Many people at the office have been here 20+ years, so it truly feels like a work family. My direct supervisor is a big advocate on having a good work/life balance which is great.

Cons

We are required to be in office 3 days a week, which is only a con because I have a long commute.
