Pros

Laid back, very little work. Within G05 MFG you’ll be busy Monday & Friday, the rest of the work you’ll have to find stuff to do. The supervisors will expect you to find your own work. You will get a lot of lip service, your skills and importance to the company will frequently be told to you, ignore it. Your team will have your back get on with them and have there back in return.

Cons

Anyone above ground level will say we are one team, that’s a false. All of the supervisors (except 2/3) and senior management are there for one thing only and that’s personal progression. You as a person & your progression doesnt matter. Progression is virtually impossible unless it’s times served or you drink with your manager outside of work and then you’ll be fine. Hologic have a speak up policy, if you speak up you will be reigned in, especially by certain MFG Supervisors they don’t know to take constructive criticism and take everything personally and will immediately get defensive. The same supervisor will also allow all kind of behaviour including aggressive behaviours towards his staff but will report you if you challenge any of his opinions.

Pros

Fair Pay, some pretty good teammates

Cons

Worked there a while back and overall Hologic was not much on work-life balance in the IT department. It is often expected to work extra hours during key projects/upgrades, but these projects could go on years or multiple long periods during a year. CIO had a punitive management style who reveled, proudly and vocally, in that role. Any communication to anyone outside of the IT department was also strongly micromanaged by the organization's CIO. This level of micromanagement and very vocal punitive management style all served in an attempt to hide much disorganization and level of noncompetence at that very top-level individual. Under the CIO are some decent directors however, but it was always dismaying to see what these direct reports to the CIO had to deal with. I believe after years it became so normalized to them that they stopped realizing what should be normal.
