Pros

-When I worked there I was friendly with almost if not every co-worker - A LOT of employee breakfasts during peak season, and occasionally a few off peak as well. - Safety Bingo where the winner would win a gift card. - Some jobs can be done at your own pace (Read below why I say SOME) - Yearly Pay Increase - My specific store was in the same lot as a Pizza Place and a Bagel Shop so getting food on lunch was easy even if you're not local. - Their break policy is one of the best I've seen. -15 Minutes for 6 or less hour shifts - 1x 45 Minutes and 1x 15 Minutes breaks for 6-under 8 hour shifts - 1x 45 Minutes and 2x 15 Minutes breaks for 8+ hour shifts That extra time in a meal break is definately the one of the things I missed the most about working there, that and the co-workers obviously.

Cons

- Very physically demanding especially if you're a male management expects you to be their heavy lifter at a moment's notice, and you may be asked to lift rugs, furniture, etc. at any moment no matter where you are in store. - Literally impossible processing expectations (If my memory serves they expect every processing employee to open and place 50 boxes worth of merchandise every hour. Mind you some of these items required assembly) - Heavily outdated equipment that would break down often - No AC at my store (Only at the registers does it work), they later installed wall mounted fans as if that would do anything when it's 100+ degrees out. - Management would constantly try and force you (Not ask) to stay late if something (even if it wasn't your job) isn't done, even employees who don't drive and have parents/family transporting. -Very dangerous working conditions if you're inside the truck or a lifter The people who load those trucks are legit idiots and items would fall down from the top and almost hit workers on the head multiple times a week. -VERY high turnover -Managers get swapped out every few months from experience, had a whole new set of managers from when I started when I left, heard from an ex co worker what none of the managers that were there when I left were there anymore either. -Horrible scheduling 1 week you'll work 30 hours the next you get 0 no joke, sometimes schedules are posted Saturday night with no online access so you won't know if you're working tomorrow or not, and you'll have to drive in to take a peek or pray a friend is on shift and can text you it. This happened the week before CHRISTMAS EVE and nobody knew if they were working on the holiday or not until literally 3 days prior, so making plans with families was not possible. - Inventory is the absolute worst, once a year they will force ALL employees to be in at 3 AM to take inventory of every item instore, you're not allowed to leave until management checks every aisle's item count is accurate, what's worse is that the store is OPEN during this (more towards the end but still) so your count means literally nothing when customers are picking stuff off the shelves and sometimes moving it to another aisle. - What comes in the store is quite literally randomized, not even management knows what's on that truck or how many items will be on it.

Pros

Decent coworkers, easy tasks, fine hours

Cons

Managers did not cooperate with me in terms of scheduling as a student (i was scheduled 30 hr weeks several weeks in a row despite communicating that I could not work that much because of school) and I felt like I was expected to bend over backwards for awful customers on a regular basis. Also, when district managers would come in for their yearly review the store managers would enact insane policies to make us look good to district that were never implemented otherwise (i.e. we weren't allowed to drink water on the store floor, even if you were on the register for an entire 8 hour shift.) I also did not like being told to continue aggressively pitching the company credit card to customers who had already told me several times that they were not interested, I feel this created a negative relationship between the customer and employees.
