Pros
I met some great people there. Wonderful coworkers at store level. I worked hard and I moved up fairly quickly.
Cons
As with anywhere, I'm sure it depends on your store and your management. I didn't believe the portrayals I had seen or read about in regards to the Good 'Ol Boys Club. But HomeGoods has it, AND they recruit new members instead of dealing with issues. I dealt with this from store level, through District and up to Regional. Also, laterally through Loss Prevention, HR and even the "hotline" that is supposed to help you with these exact situations (they never return calls, what is the point of the hotline?). The question I was always asked was "What did you do to make this person treat you this way?" I felt like I was going insane because I could never find the answer, I was always trying to change my behavior the way I was told to, but I never found the support I needed no matter how hard I tried. It occured to me one day, blame shifting. It is a required ability to have in order to be in the club with the Boys. Now that I am away from the company, I realize the depth of the abuse and manipulation. Also, I feel like myself again. HomeGoods stole my sanity. Again, probably depends on what district or region you are in, but NEVER expect support from above store level.
