Pros

Great Benefits and PTO days IF and when you fulfill your time to cap pay which is now 8 years and are a actual employee. If you are just starting off in life and you bank and invest your money right you could retire by 45-50 years old. They have a awesome 401k and stock options.

Cons

Swing shift for most all areas. 2 week rotation. Causes health issues and stress on home life. You must start out through Elwood Staffing which hire woman over 25. They will claim not enough experience but yet hire 18 yr olds without H.S. diploma. If you aren't from the South they will pass up you for promotions and allow Management and other associates to stalk and bully you. It takes a yr or more to get hired full on from Elwood some employees as still Temps with 10 years. Temps Benefits are next to nil specifically insurance for males. Most everyone is lazy and think showing up is all they have to do to get paid. A lot of waste of company money due to this. Management worries more about the amount of the bonus to keep cost low then getting employees their needs. You MUST have a uniform to work doesn't matter whose it is. But they don't supply big enough lockers for your clean uniforms coming back from being cleaned so 90% your uniforms are stolen so have to wash them at home. If you have a nasty chemical job it ruins your washer and other clothes.

Pros

The best company I’ve ever worked for hands down. Alabama really is behind the times on pay and benefits in my experience. Honda in Alabama is an exception to that rule. We work a lot of hours, especially in my role, but that’s great for me personally. One of the best work environments I’ve worked in (AC in plant), great cafeteria, etc. There’s even a free gym down the street for employees. Besides the great pay, great pay progression, and plenty of overtime, this company goes above and beyond to provide great insurance, 401k, production based bonuses, 2 scheduled shutdowns per year, and pto. More than that, the culture at Honda is centered on building up the associates in any way possible. I’ve genuinely never worked for a company like this, and hope they continue improving the culture they’ve created thus far.

Cons

Can be congested at times, there are a lot of people in there, but that’s just par for the course. Also, leaving and entering the parking lot is pretty wild sometimes.
