Recognizable brand, stable but can be boring and slow. Very good benefits, decent salary. Need to improve promotions! - Systems Engineer Honeywell Employee Review

Pros

Respected Fortune 500 company. Pay is decent, line of work can be interesting. Good health benefits. Flex Time was great! Tuition reimbursement is awesome (I was in a decent group with decent managers); they covered everything and never hesitated to do so even though my degree would eventually let me switch to another role (as long as it was something Honeywell was into it was supported). Good to have experience of how a big company operates and understand different processes. There's an effort to get everyone Six Sigma certified. Huge plus to have on a resume.

Cons

Lots of knowledge is stuck in the brains of old timers that are on the verge of retirement or have already retired. A better process is needed for information retention. Work is isolated to certain technologies and can be done without seeing the bigger picture of the product. It's nice to have visibility into what you're working on beyond its immediate purpose. Working in a big company can be slow and bureaucratic. If you want quick results and accountability (rather than deal with people who can keep their jobs and do little to nothing) then get on an active team with important projects or look elsewhere.

Pros

Helpful co-workers when questions arise. Managers guidance is very insightful with knowing which routes to take when simple procedures have different paths to getting them done.

Cons

There is not a lot of streamlined paths to doing things. Some things may need to be done differently, but there may not be instructions on how to do those things. Which I have to reach out to co-workers for help.
