Pros

It is a consistent source of income. Nothing good to say about it beyond that.

Cons

In the interview they say you may have to put in more hours from time to time which is fine and expected, but after you're in they tell you they expect extra hours every week at least 10% that they'll never pay you for, even if you don't have the workload to justify it. No design work at all. They just purchase other people's products, throw them together and call it "engineering". Coming out of college you would expect experienced engineers to point you in the right direction, give you tasks so you can become familiar with the job, any kind of training or mentorship. They've done absolutely nothing to help me develop as an engineer. You can't just take initiative because you need to be brought in on projects and have authorization to do anything, but no one brings you in on anything because all they worry about is their own metrics and numbers. It's a complete waste of time for me to be here. I collect my check and continue searching for a job at any other company. The first three months I let it slide assuming they were just slow to bring new people in on projects. At a year in, I've gained literally nothing to show on my resume and management just keeps telling me "work is coming, as soon as the new programs get turned on". Don't waste your life at a company where engineers go to die.

Pros

Great teammates, great team leads who support and train well. Professional and structured work environment with freedom to develop individual talents. Lots of staff appreciation and camaraderie. Lot's of positions and opportunity for growth and promotion. Amazing learning experiences with opportunities to work, learn and interact with team members from diverse roles backgrounds and professions.

Cons

Starting salaries can skew lower, system redesigns are often flawed and redundant. Promotions are given however they require several before high salary and also they are often very political. Sometimes they would promote people who were neither proficient or knowledgeable but simply favored by a particular higher up.

Pros

Only the individual contributors at this company are nice. All managers are pretty useless.

Cons

Worse run company I have EVER been exposed to. I left on good terms but I have been needing to call their HR department for almost a year to finalize a paycheck and get a W2 corrected, which they never did and has created so many headaches with my taxes. Just the worst kind of incompetence. I am shocked this company even functions. Whoever is over HR and payroll should actually do their job. 0 accountability here. I am glad I got an offer to go somewhere else while I hadn't wasted any significant amount of my life there. I will forever, tell everyone I meet to never waste their time with Honeywell or the newly created off shoots.
