Pros
-Experience was excellent, and helped my understanding of the petroleum industry -Employees are great, at least my specific group was (very modest, intelligent, and patient) -Intelligent work allowed me to realize the complexity of the work (you don't experience this in college (as tough as it is), surprisingly...)
Cons
-I was bored a lot, not because the work wasn't challenging (it was extremely difficult), but because I was pretty much on a computer 6-7 hours of the day or sitting down at meetings. Days had a tendency to drag, but it was totally worth it to trudge to the material for the knowledge. You'll come out knowing more than all of the other students at your respective college, and you can impress future employers with your ability to fully describe the chemistry and mechanics behind oil refinery. -Human Resources is a joke. Don't expect much out of them. -Get competitive with pay! (like everyone has already said!) You lost THIS intern because that low ball 48k offer.
