Pros
I have worked for Hood Packaging for 14 years in mid-level management. There are two plants in Calgary, the paper division and the plastics division. I had worked for the paper division. Glassdoor lumps both plants under Hood Packaging, Calgary which is unfair because both have very different management styles. I can only speak for the paper division. The people there are well treated and with management’s commitment to treat employees as part of the team. There are deficiencies in some departments but overall it is a good environment to work in. The plant is progressive and try to find the best method to get the job done with automation and advanced computer systems which many packaging plants do not have. Employees go through a training matrix which is measured to bring proficiency to the employee. Health and safety is top of mind and daily production meeting start with a discussion on safety. Employees can provide feedback for any concerns. There is an employee Association which addresses concerns and disputes.
Cons
None that I can think of.
