Pros

It's rare to see a company where everyone is working towards a known, common goal, but that's the case here and it's refreshing. The office is always buzzing during the day and anyone could tell you what the short and long term goals of the company are. An amazing place to learn and grow... management is creative and wants to hear everyone's opinions. Your feedback matters. They also like to keep everyone in the light about company performance on all fronts, so you truly feel part of the company and not just another worker bee.

Cons

Office space is kind of tight as growth continues.

It's great to have this feedback. Thank you. Housecall is built on the foundation of our values - empathy for the customer and a deep respect for our People. To this end, we focus on transparency and empowering everyone in the org to participate in our goal setting and decision making. Ownership of the outcome is far easier to attain when everyone has a voice in the process. Office space will be somewhat tight as we grow but we're working on a few improvements to make sure the environment supports our culture. We are a lean start-up and that is an ethos that will likely never change but over the course of the year, we'll find a new space that will support our growth. Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback.

Pros

Great people below executive level that want to do their best work. Full remote work. Working with customers that actually make a difference in the world.

Cons

Hustle culture without the hustle pay. Way below market salary but executives expect top company output. Fear based. Executives pivot every week, if not multiple times a day and it creates immense thrash. CTO is completely disconnected from day to day work, talks in abstract most of the time, and when they do mention something about actual work, it's completely disconnected from the reality of people doing the work. Top talent has been steadily leaving the company. Process is whatever the executives decide that week. The current product is mediocre at best and most attempts from talented people to make it better either are ignored or when agreed upon, the rug gets pulled out from underneath a couple months later when the executives get cold feet. If you want to work at a company and make a difference, this is not the place to do it. Promotions and pay increases are non-existent unless you work 14+ hour days, amplify whatever the current executive flavor of the week is, and put your head down and just execute on someone else's poorly planned ideas. Everyone is pretty miserable currently and most people are only still there because the current job market is not great.
