Pros

At Housecall Pro you have a group of motivated people who all believe in our product and vision. This was set forth by our founders and has been the foundation of the company ever since. It’s easy to come to work when your coworkers have that constant drive to be better everyday. Everyone is encouraged to input their thoughts and managers are always constantly spending one on one time with employees, old and new, to ensure our company is always hitting on all cylinders. We are all highly motivated which brings a positive energy to the whole team. This is the definition of what a team should be.

Cons

As with most startups we are always looking for ways to do things more efficiently and resourcefully. If you are one who isn’t open to change or fail to meet expectations in a transforming environment, this may not be for you.

Let's talk ping pong / conference table. That's a funny one b/c we run lean and we're growing fast, so we would need a conference room first to go with that conference table. It won't be long before we expand our space and with that will come even better facilities. This said, we won't get far away from our idea of doing more with less while saving our investment for our people. We'd rather pay our people well, invest in their growth, and over time add in the right benefits, rather than have fancy offices with slides. A ping pong table, though, that's not a bad idea. Thanks for the feedback and for being a part of the Housecall Pro team. We're glad you joined us.

Pros

Great people below executive level that want to do their best work. Full remote work. Working with customers that actually make a difference in the world.

Cons

Hustle culture without the hustle pay. Way below market salary but executives expect top company output. Fear based. Executives pivot every week, if not multiple times a day and it creates immense thrash. CTO is completely disconnected from day to day work, talks in abstract most of the time, and when they do mention something about actual work, it's completely disconnected from the reality of people doing the work. Top talent has been steadily leaving the company. Process is whatever the executives decide that week. The current product is mediocre at best and most attempts from talented people to make it better either are ignored or when agreed upon, the rug gets pulled out from underneath a couple months later when the executives get cold feet. If you want to work at a company and make a difference, this is not the place to do it. Promotions and pay increases are non-existent unless you work 14+ hour days, amplify whatever the current executive flavor of the week is, and put your head down and just execute on someone else's poorly planned ideas. Everyone is pretty miserable currently and most people are only still there because the current job market is not great.
