Pros

The work ethic and passion of the founders in contagious. I find myself in awe of how much everyone in the company is devoted to bettering the product and making life easier for our pros. As far as individual growth, I have never in my life had managers see potential in me and mentor me into reaching that potential the way they do here at HouseCall.

Cons

It's a startup, so things change a lot.

It's all about our People. Truly. The only way we can help our Pros to a better life is with the right people, in the right seat, doing the best work of their career. We build an exceptional product and our team provides extraordinary customer support for our Pros as well. We know that's where we win and we are able to do so because of our People Practices. Our philosophy is built around hiring and retaining the smartest, most curious, most tenacious people we can find. It all starts with our recruiting practices and extends into onboarding. We then continue to invest in the success of our People with thoughtful managers who are here to serve you and your team. They will focus on your growth. They will mentor and support you to the best of their ability. Thanks for the kind words. We have a great story here and we're glad you are a part of it.

Pros

Great people below executive level that want to do their best work. Full remote work. Working with customers that actually make a difference in the world.

Cons

Hustle culture without the hustle pay. Way below market salary but executives expect top company output. Fear based. Executives pivot every week, if not multiple times a day and it creates immense thrash. CTO is completely disconnected from day to day work, talks in abstract most of the time, and when they do mention something about actual work, it's completely disconnected from the reality of people doing the work. Top talent has been steadily leaving the company. Process is whatever the executives decide that week. The current product is mediocre at best and most attempts from talented people to make it better either are ignored or when agreed upon, the rug gets pulled out from underneath a couple months later when the executives get cold feet. If you want to work at a company and make a difference, this is not the place to do it. Promotions and pay increases are non-existent unless you work 14+ hour days, amplify whatever the current executive flavor of the week is, and put your head down and just execute on someone else's poorly planned ideas. Everyone is pretty miserable currently and most people are only still there because the current job market is not great.
